Ice Rink Terms & Conditions

By booking or entering the ice rink operated by Santa’s Village Entertainment Limited & North West Marquee Hire - T/A Rochdale Ice Rink, you agree to comply with the following Terms and Conditions. These are designed to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors.

1. Assumption of Risk

• All persons entering or using the ice rink and its facilities do so entirely at their own risk, whether booked individually or as part of a group. The person making the booking accepts responsibility for ensuring all members of their party are aware of and accept these terms.
Skate at your own risk.

• Ice skating is a hazardous activity. The Operator, management, and staff are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage of any nature unless caused by proven negligence.

• Participants are responsible for skating within their own ability. Reckless or dangerous behaviour will not be tolerated.

2. Health & Safety

• Protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, and knee/elbow pads are strongly recommended. Socks must be worn when using rental skates. Customers without socks will not be permitted to hire skates.

• Persons with heart conditions, high blood pressure, back, neck, or joint problems—or any condition that may be aggravated by skating—should not participate without written medical clearance provided to rink management.

• Pregnant women should not skate.

• The Operator accepts no responsibility for lost, stolen, or damaged belongings.

• No food, drink, phones, headphones, or loose items are permitted on the ice.Skating under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited.

3. Supervision of Children

• Children aged 3 and under are not permitted to skate.

• Children aged 3–8 years must be accompanied on the ice by a responsible adult (1 adult per 2 children)

• Children aged 9–11 years must be accompanied rink-side by a responsible adult (1 adult per 6 children).

• Anyone aged 15 and under must always be accompanied at the rink by a responsible adult.

• Parents/guardians remain responsible for supervising their children at all times, ensuring compliance with safety rules, appropriate clothing, and safe behaviour.

4. Tickets, Booking & Payment

• All visitors entering the rink must hold a valid ticket.

• Tickets are valid only for the date and session booked. Late arrivals may result in reduced skate time or denied entry without refund.

• No refunds or exchanges are permitted once a booking is made, except in the event of session cancellation by the Operator.

• If a session is fully booked, customers will be offered the next available session.

• Tickets are classified as:

- Adult: 13 years and over
- Child: 3–12 years

• Online bookings may be subject to a booking fee. Customers should check tickets upon receipt; mistakes cannot always be corrected.

5. Exclusive Hire

• Private hire of the rink is available for groups.

• Exclusive hire must be pre-booked. For enquiries, please contact info@santasvillage.co.uk.

6. Admission & Conduct

• The Operator reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any person for:

- Unsafe or antisocial behaviour
- Skating while intoxicated
- Abusive, threatening, or inappropriate conduct
- Refusal to comply with safety rules or staff instructions

• All injuries, accidents, or incidents must be reported immediately to rink staff.

• No smoking, vaping, or chewing gum is permitted inside the marquee or on the ice.

• No glass items may be brought into the premises.

• Only beverages purchased on-site may be consumed.

• Dogs are not permitted, except guide dogs.

7. Weather & Operational Disruptions

• If a session is cancelled by the Operator, customers will be offered an alternative booking or refund.

• If the rink remains open, no refunds will be given for adverse weather conditions.

8. Photography & Media

• The Operator may occasionally take photos or videos for promotional purposes. By entering the premises, you consent to being filmed or photographed unless you notify staff otherwise.

• Private photography is permitted unless it causes disruption or safety risks. The use of tripods, drones, or professional equipment without permission is prohibited.

9. Privacy & Data Protection

• Personal information collected during booking will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws. Customer data will not be shared with third parties without consent, except where required by law.

10. Acceptance of Terms

By booking or entering the ice rink, you confirm that you:

- Have read and understood these Terms and Conditions

- Accept them on behalf of yourself and any minors under your supervision

- Agree to comply with all rink rules and instructions from staff.

Important: Failure to comply with these Terms & Conditions may result in removal from the premises without refund.
